Randall Blanton Obituary
Mr. Blanton was a member of Brownstown Christian Church and had worked for Swifty Oil Co. as safety director for many years. He previously had worked as district manager for Empire Gas Co. in Scottsburg. He enjoyed all types of auto racing and woodworking. He had been a member of the Scottsburg Kiwanis Club.
Born Jan. 24, 1944, in Louisville, he was a son of Orba and Ruby Cook Blanton, both of whom preceded him in death. On Nov. 8, 1961, he married Bessie Hardin Blanton Davidson, who now lives in Scottsburg. Later, he was briefly married to and then separated from Carlene Hurley.
Survivors include three children, Dewight Blanton, Lexington, Dana (Corey) Boswell, Scottsburg, and Donavon (Sonya) Blanton, Seymour; six grandchildren, Douglas Sullivan, Kyrsti Sullivan, Tyler Boswell, Cameron Blanton, Christopher Blanton and Asa Blanton; and a great-granddaughter, Katie Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Dewayne Blanton, and a brother, Denver Wayne Blanton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Brownstown Christian Church, 702 W. Spring St. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown, is in charge of arrangements.

Randy touched more lives in more ways than will ever be known. He taught us some powerful lessons and will forever be in our thoughts. Our prayers go out to his family and friends. He will be truly missed, and his passing brings with it tremendous sadness and grief.

We are so sorry to hear of the death of Randell. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Randall was so friendly and fun to be around. We always looked forward to the Family Reunion every year, because Randall made us all have a good time. He was the auctioneer and could make us all laugh! He will surely be missed!
