Randall m Harris

Just found out, my mentor Randy Harris, former District Attorney of Clovis/Portales, passed away. While I was his intern, in college, he allowed me so much access. He allowed me access to case files, he discussed and included me in high profile cases, I even helped to pick a jury in a very controversial murder case. He sent me out with his special investigators, as well as had me working with his legal secretarial pool. His excitement for the law, really contributed to my passion for it. His letter of recommendation, no doubt, contributed to my landing my first "real job," in my first career, in Criminal Justice, as a Classification Officer at Central NM Correctional Facility. I never told him how much I appreciated him, I wish I had. Thank you, Randy, I appreciate all you did for me!

Randy will forever hold a place in my heart. Shortly after leaving active duty, I became his legal assistant as he left the DA's office to start his own practice. The fond memories I have of being part of his legal team will hold dear to me. Randy was a mentor, friend, teacher, and wonderful boss. I cannot express the words of gratitude I have for him and his family. Prayers

The world has lost a great man! Randy was never a stranger to anyone. He loved with his whole heart and it showed when he talked to you. My thoughts and prayer for Ryan and Lydz what wonderful kids. I always smiled when I found out Randy was on the other side of a case in which I was involved. He was a true professional with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by the Bar and his untimely passing diminishes us. I'll see you in heaven with our Father.

Randy yesterday my daughter Ashley, her heart broken told me you left us. I can still remember Michael introducing me to you. Your smile is unforgettable. I had not a clue then the invaluable advice you would provide our family as we nurtured teenagers in Clovis. Genuine concern from you, laced with your impeccable humor helped us through many occasions. Memories of you for Ashley extend from childhood visits to going with her daddy to your high school reunion. She recalls you changed Guns n Roses Sweet Child of Mine to "Sweet Child of Mike" as you two singing & laughing got others to join you dancing upon the tables. Your friendship with Michael is truly a blessing to my family. To your family our sincere condolences. Randy was the same in high school and never changed. He was always cutting up and just enjoying life. Always smiling and happy to meet new people. He really knew how to energize a room and make people feel special. Gone, way too soon... My condolences to the family.

Losing such a special man so soon is not something that's easy to wrap your head around but Randy has left a lasting impact on many of us who truly cared about him. Go in peace and many prayers for your family.

I hired Mr Harris a week before his untimely death to represent me in a criminal case. This was the first time I have actually felt comfortable in the last 3 months. During my consultation Mr. Harris gave me a compliment by saying that in the last 28 years of his law practice he has never seen a potential client come in more prepared than I was. It was very sad to learn of Mr Harris's passing. I am only grateful that I had a chance to meet him. He is truly an angel. He gave me encouragement and hope where no one else had. I hope by saying, Mr Harris is in a better place, it gives his family, A sense of hope and strength to make it through this time of grieving.

I was saddened to hear the news of my friend, Randy. We shared some fun memories. Ronnie, I'm thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

Randy, thank you for just absolutely everything. Forever my friend, forever in peace.

We're all travelers on this earth, from the sweet grass to the packing house, from birth till death we travel between the eternities. I will miss you my friend.

I met Randy at ENMU and we became good friends. I loved his smile and his personality. He is leaving us way too early, but I'm sure he'll be smiling down on his loved ones. Praying for comfort and peace for the family.
