Randall Ernest Johnson Sr.

JOHNSON-Randall Ernest Johnson Sr., passed away peacefully at his Arcadia home on January 22, 2009 at the age of 65. Randall was a coach and teacher at Rio Hondo Prep School. His teams won numerous CIF championships in football and girl?s basketball. He was inducted into the CIF Hall of Fame for his work. He also led students on educational summer tours of the U.S. and Europe. Before moving to high school, he coached 2nd-6th grade boys at Kare Yout h League for almost 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Janet who he married in 1968; children Diana Bolinger (Greg), Randall Johnson Jr. (Marsha), Rick Johnson (Valerie); 8 grandchildren; mother Madeline Johnson; brother Sterling Johnson (Shelley); sister Marla Hampton (Orrick) and a host of extended family and friends. A Graveside service will be held 11 AM, Tues. Jan. 27, at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Rio Hondo Prep/ Kare Youth League (5150 Farna Ave., Arcadia, CA 91006) In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Rio Hondo Prep for Kare Field at the above address.
