Ronnie, Jean, Brian and his family.
Like other people in the guest book i had a chance encounter last year with Randy when he was working outside my house. Planned a meeting one day, at some stop light, GTX vs 'Cuda. I was surprised at all the little memories stashed in the back of my brain that came back to me after all these years of our times as children visiting your house, shooting b.b. guns in Birch Bay, and Randy trying to record the House of the Rising Sun on tape where the song went to the other side of the album, bowling and pool on Pender and a 3 Stooges movie on Granville. One memory never forgotten was the school supply smuggling mission from Birch Bay to vancouver under the cover of darkness the boat planted itself on some uncharted breakwater. breaking out the emergency flare we watched it arc into the sky then drop to within 20 feet of the water before lighting. planning for a night on the boat followed until a massive freighter created daylight by shining its spotlight on us. minutes later a light in the distance getting closer had us wondering, plane?, boat?, no, it was the Coast Guard hovercraft coming to the rescue. pretty new at the time, it pulled alongside and a transfer was made and giving us a ride to safety. even though we went down different paths in life Mom kept me up to date on his. I'm sorry we will not meet at that stoplight.

To the Family of Randy
I was very shocked to hear of Randy's passing as I had just spoke to him for the very first time in probably 35 years.
We spoke mostly of the past and Brian as I grew up with Brian and my older sister Paulette with Randy. In my eyes this was a blessing far more important then I knew because it was the last time we would ever speak. My heart bleeds for you all and my deepest sympathy goes out to you all.
God Bless,,,,Sincerely Monique Lemire

To Julie and Family,
It's with sadness I read of Randy's passing. I always remembered him with a smile on his face, his laugh, for the fantastic music he liked to play so incredibly loud, his GTX and its "Road of Rubber".....
My family lived next door to Randy while in his youth. I knew
Randy to be an accomplished explorer of life and there were no dull moments. He truly knew how to live life to the fullest.
Please accept our most sincerest condolences.

Julie and the entire "Rask" Family.
We are turly sorry to hear of the passing of Randy. When someone is taken from us you feel sorry that you lost touch over the years. It makes you reflect on the past and all the memories come flooding back. Riding over Granville Street in his GTX. Hanging out at his house down the street. Playing kick the can with all the neighbourhood kids. But mostly his infectious Laugh! Please accept our sincere condolences.

From the Turner Family who lived down the lane.

I, too, remember that A-frame in Whistler.... many moons ago, when Whistler was still wilderness. Art and I were looking for places to go rock climbing, but I recall not finding anything really, so we partied instead. Randy was very happy to share his Silent Sam. He always had a smile and "hello" whenever I came into the EOB. For the longest time I thought his name was Rudy, because that's what some of the guys at work called him. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends. I'm so sorry for your loss.

To Julie and family,
I haven't really come to terms with this sad news of Randy's passing. He was a great friend - always willing to give help and advice at work and was the life and soul of many a party that I attended. He will truly be missed by many. My sincere condolences to you all.

Julie and Family- My thoughts are with you.
Hanging out with Randy during grade 10 thru 12 brings back lots of memories. Listening to those first Led Zeppelin Albums in Randy's bedroom for hours, his famous house parties at his parent's house in South Van and hanging around 57th and Knight St. As I reflect back Randy was a good friend who I never saw get mad or say anything bad about others. God Bless

Julie, Jamie, Jaclyn and Taylor,

Our warmest thoughts are with you.
Randy was a true friend. I will always remember Randy calling us in Williams Lake to make sure we didn't miss our 10th Thompson school reunion and taking us there in his beloved GTX. Randy's love for cars, music and fun was infectious. We always felt at home with Randy and we will be forever grateful for the time we managed to spend with him over the last few years.

Love,

Steve and Isabel

Julie & family,
Our thoughts are with you guys during this sad time.
After hearing about Randy i started to think about all the great times we had together. Hanging out at
school, then working at Mr Mikes on davie,or going to the drags, then all the memories from Whistler sharing the A frame with John,Ken,Jimmy & Al listening to Madison blues and having Monte Cristos then hiking to west bowl for fresh powder. I always enjoyed seeing Randy at the Fire Hall or at our kids hockey games and having a few laughs everytime we were together.
Rudy you will be missed my friend.

This is still so shocking to try and comprehend! My heart goes out to all of the little Rask-als having to deal with this, especially with Father's Day right around the corner. Having lost my own Dad, I know the deep sorrow that this kind of loss carries, especially with your Dad being so young and still so much to experience with you all - weddings, babies, etc. And, Jules, you're amazingly strong. I'm only ever a phone call away on the hard days (and they will come).

Love and blessings to you all!
