Rev. Sandra Smith
July 25, 2009
Mr. Lockett was best friend to our father, W.C.Carroll and a mainstay in our lives. He was an intelligent, confident, compassionate and passionate man who never lost his cool. He often argued his point in a forceful but constrained manner, thus he taught us the meaning of discipline. Mr. Lockett was also our Sunday school teacher, who instilled in me the necessity for scholarship of the scriptures. Even though it was God who called me to preach the gospel, God placed Mr. Lockett in my life to challege me to become a more focused and discipled student of God's word. On behalf of the Carroll Family, I thank God for the gift of Mr. Lockett to our lives.
