Randy Atkins Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 23, 2026.
Randy Ray Atkins, beloved husband, friend and Servant of God, passed away suddenly on Feb. 22, 2026, leaving behind his beloved wife, Debra (Debbie), family and many special friends.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1955 in Valdosta (Lowndes Co.), GA to Ruth Spikes and Felton Lamar Atkins (both deceased). His siblings include Gary Tidwell (deceased) and Margaret Maine of Hogansville, GA.; one niece, Tina Tidwell (deceased) and three nephews, Mike Tidwell (deceased), Jimmy Tidwell of Rays City, GA and Steve Atkins of Valdosta, GA.

Randy worked at Kimberly Clark when it first opened in LaGrange. Following this he was human resource manager in Spartanburg, SC and for American Home in LaGrange. He was also the owner of Hawaiian Shaved Ice for many years before retirement.

Randy was a member of Faith Baptist Church and Freedom Baptist Church for many years. His passion was church work and outreach. He was a marriage counselor and a "cheerleader" for many pastors and church workers. He also taught Sunday School for many years, imparting Biblical wisdom to those who attended his classes. He will be remembered as a true prayer warrior who always had a listening ear and was a caring friend.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Callaway Baptist Church on Sunday, March 1, at 3:00pm. Visitation with family will be from 1:30-2:45pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Lighthouse Children's Home or Callaway Baptist Church's Children's Building Fund.

Randy is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and was always sincere when he asked "How are you doing my friend". I always got a smile whenever he introduced Debbie as his 'Bride"! My prayers will be with Debbie and his family. Something tells me he'll be one of the first people I'll see when I get to heaven, and he'll greet me with a big handshake and that wonderful smile of his. Amen:)

A truer friend no one could have. A loving and compassionate husband and friend is how I will celebrate Randy Ray's life. His love for his Jesus and his wife was exemplified by his life in so many ways; he was an example to follow to get closer to God, by living for God daily always seeking to help those in need. I cannot wait to see him in Glory yet we all must adhere to God's timing. Prayers, Love and Hugs to all his family on this journey they are now on. Celebrate his life is what he told me he wanted everyone to do. Let us do just that .... live with eternity in mind.

Randy was such an inspiration to many, a true friend and cheerleader as Debra said. He set the bar high for Christians to follow and discipline others.
