Randy Lewis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 20, 2024.
Randy Lewis, aged 73, of Hazlehurst, MS, passed away on the 20th of January, 2024, in Jackson, MS. Born on the 16th of December, 1950, Randy spent the majority of his life in the heart of Simpson County, where he was known for his unflagging good humor, compassionate nature, and generous spirit.

A man of great joviality, Randy's laughter and fondness for storytelling became his hallmark, endearing him to many. His refusal to acknowledge the word "no" exemplified his commitment to kindness and his belief in the inherent value of every individual.

Randy leaves behind his devoted wife of 24 years, Sandy Lewis, and their loving children: Lisa Hosey (Chris), Donny Lewis (Kim), Shelley Brunt (Lance), and Jessie Renfroe (Chris). His sister Becky Arrington (Tommy), his eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nephew Brad Plemons (Mikki), a great-niece, and sister-in-law Wanda Bonds (Donna) also survive him. He is preceded in passing by his parents, J.B. and Mildred Harrison Lewis, sister Jeanie Lewis, and brother-in-law Gary Bonds.

A proud alumnus of Harrisville High School, Randy carried the values of his education throughout his life. His faith and fellowship were found within the walls of Unity Baptist Church in Georgetown, MS.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to a service in remembrance of Randy's life, to be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Unity Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, with the service commencing at 5:00 PM. The church is located at 187 Simpson Hwy 28 W, Georgetown, MS 39078. Brothers Talmadge Smith and Scott Sones will preside over the service.

In this time of parting, let us honor the memory of Randy Lewis, a man who lived with laughter and love, and whose presence was a blessing to all who knew him. May his soul find peaceful repose in the company of the divine.
