My heart is broken with the passing of Randy. A beautiful man, singer, musician who just wanted to be happy and play music. I wish I had known him personally while I was living in Colorado but his songs will live in my heart forever.
My sincere condolences to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family members. How blessed we all were, to have this beautiful soul in all our lives.
More than a year has passed but my thoughts and prayers are with you always.
You lived your life to the limit Randy, and now you can rest in peace.
Miss you, love you

Today is Randy's birthday. I was always a fan of Eagles music in the 70's, but it wasn't until a road trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras that one of their songs really touched me and always will. "Take It To The Limit" was on the car radio. It instantly made me melancholy. At the time, and until recently, I was not aware of which band member did the solo on the song. Since hearing that Randy passed away, I have spent the past month online researching him, his talent, family and character as well as listening to his wonderful voice and watching videos. What I have learned - he was amazingly humble and loved doing his music- and not just for the money. Wish I could have met him and seen him in concert. I hope his family is proud of his influence on many people. We are so blessed that he came into the world 78 years ago. From a fellow Midwestern baby boomer in Missouri

Met Randy when I went to college in Scottsbluff, pre-Eagles. Played in a band, Gold Rush, with him for about two years; he had his falling out with Poco. Have not seen him in many years but we kept in touch by phone when we could. Always considered him a genuine friend. He helped me as a drummer, I will always be grateful. We took our band to LA where he and I filled in for Henley and his bassist who had a conflicting gig. It was on that weekend gig in Palo Alto that Glen and Randy heard each other sing and independently each said to me, "That guy can really sing good!" The rest, as they say, is history. And, OMG what history!! The Eagles, fueled by Randy's incredibly high and haunting vocal harmonies gave us so many great songs. I shall never tire of hearing them. May you now know and be at peace, old friend. It was my honor and pleasure to have known you. We shall meet again...

Sweet sorrow to lose a second of the Eagles who figured so prominently in the soundtrack of a sun-tanned 70s youth, when keen home pianists & campfire guitarists knew a large part of the band catalogue in all 4-parts harmony. Soar on Randy and we'll keep reaching for the top notes you arranged to thrilling effect in a life devoted to sublime American music. Sincere condolences to friends and bands mates xxx

At 58, I grew up listening to the Eagles. I listened to their songs, but there was one in particular that I didn´t hear: Take it to the limit. I´ve been going through tough times for a long time. One day, I stumbled across the song on YouTube. For the first time, I didn´t just listen, but I heard it. I can´t explain why that song hit me so deeply. Maybe it was a reminder from Randy not to give up but to take each day, each moment, to the limit. I love you Randy. You´ve pulled on my heartstrings reading the chronicle of your life. I won´t forget you. Your music won´t let me.

I have been a fan since he was a band member of POCO. He was awesome then as well with his time with the Eagles. Both bands and Randy were trailblazers. I am glad that he was inducted into the
Rock N Roll Hall of Fame along side fellow bandmates of the Eagles. RIP

Randy was the Uncle of dear co-workers of mine. Although I never had the good fortune to meet him in person, I once had a private viewing of his automobile collection in Scottsbluff. I remember his wife also visiting our crew in Kansas. A lifetime ago. Sending love to the family. Joey.
