Randy Pratt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 4, 2016.
A celebration of life and potluck for Randy Dean Pratt will be held at Kincaid Park Chalet in Anchorage, Alaska, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Randy was tragically killed in an avalanche on Feb. 27, 2016, near Eureka, Alaska, when he and two close friends were doing what they loved, snowmachining in the backcountry. Randy was a loving husband and doting father. His wife, Jamie, and daughters, Denali and Katelyn, were the absolute center of his life. Randy was a successful business owner and avid outdoorsman. He was always quick with a smile and a laugh. He was a man that you could count on, whether it was filleting fish on the Kenai, dressing a moose in Nabesna or towing you home when you had broken down, you could always count on Randy. It's often said, but especially true, that Randy would give you the shirt off his back as he was generous to a fault. Randy leaves behind his wife, Jamie and daughters, Denali and Katelyn of Anchorage; daughter, Terri Mejia and grandsons, Sebastian, Victor and Leo of Atlanta, Ga; stepson, Noah Sherman of Austin, Texas; father, Tom Pratt of Florence, Ariz.; mother and stepfather, Shirley and Chet Huskey of Hemet, Calif.; sister, Vickie Larson of Anchorage; sister, Julie Kulzer of Hemet, Calif.; nieces, Rachel Migneault of Anchorage and Nicole Jensen of Wasilla, Alaska; and nephew, Kody Kulzer and nieces Karyn Rodriguez and Shana Rose, all of California.

Randy was a dear friend of mine.We shared many memories of fun at the river. More memories to follow at the Aspen Apts. He was always there for me if I ever needed anything. He always put other people first He was always truly the best friend you could ask for. You will be missed greatly. RIP my friend.

I only saw cousin Randy 2-3 times growing up in Florence, Az. My impression was that he didn't have a mean bone in his body. He did an impression of a cat growling and hissing. It cracked us up every time.

Randy was a big man with an even bigger heart. He touched many lives and extended kindness and generosity to everyone. Though I only knew a short time in the course of life, I feel privileged to have been able to call him a friend. He will be missed.

Jamie, Denali and Katelyn Please know my thoughts and my prayers are with you at this time. I wish you all the strength to grieve. Your dad always greeted me with a smile and a warm handshake. When you were all together the love and happiness just beamed from you all. He will be missed.
