Randy Wright Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 20, 2025.
Randy Lee Wright UPPER Randy Lee Wright, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed on to his Heavenly home on November 16, 2025. Randy was born on December 27, 1951, to the late Roland A. and Eleanor Wolff Wright.

He is survived by his brother, Dave Wright; his son, Michael Wright, and wife, Carrie Wright; and his grandchildren, Michael Wright Jr., Nathaniel Wright, and Samuel Wright. He is also survived by his beloved cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Randy was born in Beaumont, Texas, and later moved with his family to Houston, where he attended Robert E. Lee High School, graduating in 1970. After high school, he worked at Wrights Grocery, a store owned by his father. In 1976, his father sold Wrights Grocery to a land developer and opened a new store, Micheletti's Grocery, in Galveston, Texas. Randy then moved to Galveston to help with the new store. After several years, he felt called to make a change and pursued a career in real estate. He went on to work for Coldwell Banker, becoming a successful agent and managing numerous rental properties.

Later in life, Randy found great purpose serving with Galveston County Senior Services. As the main bus driver, he was responsible for safely transporting seniors for essential shopping, errands, and the occasional day trip to a museum or farmer's market. He cherished the relationships he formed and took great pride in caring for those he served.

Randy was a devout Christian who loved God and his church deeply. He was a kind, gentle soul-generous with his time, attention, and compassion toward anyone who needed it.

Outside of work, Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, talking about guns or cars, and taking naps. He loved people and thrived in social settings. He became an active member of the Galveston Elks Lodge, where he spent many joyful years and made lifelong friends. His love for grilling often led him to join cooking teams and compete in local cook-offs, something he took great pride in.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Leah, Alexis, and Aveya Ely for the compassionate care they provided during Randy's final days.

A celebration of Randy's life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 13217 FM 1764, Santa Fe, Texas. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with lunch served immediately afterward.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a place that held a very special place in Randy's heart.
