I had the pleasure of working with Rashaun at Heritage. She was a very sweet and caring young lady who exuded the love for her family and her children each and everyday. Rashaun will be greatly missed by us all. My thoughts and prayers go out to her children and her family.

To my cousin Barbara, Aunt Tommie and everyone that loved Rashaun, I give my deepest sympathy! I wrote a poem some time ago and want to post it for you all! I pray God's blessings on your wounded Spirits and I know that HE will walk you through your grief! I love you all. Here is the poem.
Holy Spirit come sit with me! Please sit and hold my hand! I need for you to comfort me and help me understand! One day she was here the next she was gone! Tell me Holy Spirit how do I go on?
Someone I love has been taken away! I prayed so hard I wanted her to stay! I thank God for the memories that we shared. I pray that through my actions she knew how much I cared! Holy Spirit come sit with me! Hold me in Your arms and help me find peace! Close the door let no one else in! Help me Holy Spirit! Ease this pain within! My heart feels such grief, yet in my Spirit I see, that her body was just a shell and now her Spirit is set free! Free from this world, free from sickness and pain! Free to walk with Jesus! My loss is her gain! Holy Spirit come sit with me! Please! sit and hold my hand! I need for you to comfort me and help me understand!

We all lost a friend who made such an impact in such a short time. Shaun you were my "alter ego". To the Matthews Family especially "my homie," I had the privilege to meet Rashaun over twenty years ago and everytime we saw each other after that she always greeted me with a warm smile and hug(that Kentucky connection). Weeping may endure for a moment but joy cometh in the morning. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Matthews when we were at Loop Central, she was always positive and a great listner. When something was wrong she knew what to say and how to say it to make you feel better. Ms. Matthews was always polite and courtesy. God surely don't make mistake she was angel sent from above. I will miss her dearly. Family stay strong only what you do for Christ will last she's gone but never forgotten.

It has been almost a year since we where all together, and as sad as the occasion was, I am happy that I was able to spend some time with Rashaun,her children and other Family. Rashaun was a friend of my husband's, who was her co-worker. He had many nice things to say about her and I can tell we had many things in common. A good sense of humor is a wonderful thing to share in life and she shared her's. I cannot understand how her children must miss her because she sounds like a wonderful mother and a fantastic role model. My deepest sympathies are not enough to extend. My prayers are with her children and many, many friends.
