Ray G. Davis, 92, died at 11:45 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2002 at Rest Haven - York. He was the husband of Hazel P. (Baker) Davis with whom he celebrated a 73rd wedding anniversary on March 28th. Mr. Davis retired as a Maintenance Supervisor after 3 1/2 years with the York County Hospital and Home - Pleasant Acres. He had previously been an Assistant Foreman with Trumbel Asphalt for many years. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Born in Hanging Rock, W. Va. on July 13, 1910, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Letitia (Combs) Davis. He also leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine D. and Hobart T. Funkhouser of York; two grandsons, David B. Funkhouser and Brian S. Funkhouser; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Grapes. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, December 23rd at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. The service will be 11 a.m., Monday, at the funeral chapel with his pastor, the Rev. Owen H. Walter, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 11 N. Richland Ave., York, PA 17404.
