Dear Kathy,
Sharon Cutler told us today about Ray's death. Carol and I have some great memories of you and Ray back in Kansas City. He was a wonderful co-worker at Hallmark and a wonderful friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Sister Egan and Family:
Ray was one of our missionaries in Japan many years ago. We grieve with you at Ray's passing but we are comforted by the knowledge that he is yet alive and living in a better place free from pain and joyfully reunited with his loved ones who preceded him and by the knowledge that we can be reunited with him and continue our association forever and ever. We know that you are comforted by this knowledge also in this time of grief. We are praying for you. Sent with Aloha.

Dear Kathy and Family,
I was sorry to hear of the long term illness and passing of Ray. He has been a friend since Dixon Jr. High School days and on to Provo High School. He had the traits of being a righteous, friendly, enthusiastic gentleman from an early age. Our heartfelt wishes go out to you for your peace and comfort.

Sister Egan,
I thought you should know that my father Charles Allsop (Chick) Passed away the same day as Bro. Egan. It was a sudden heart attack. We really miss him, but it makes us feel good to think they maybe are serving together again. We saw Rays obituary when we were looking at our fathers. Our best wishes to you and your family in this sad time.

Dear Kathy,
For just a moment Ray walked through my life, but he left a friendship that will last for an eterenty. I am so very grateful for the opportunity Heavenly Father gave me, to be a home teaching companion to one of the finest people I'v ever had the privilege to meet. I know that I will see him again and with any luck be his home teaching companion again. I also know that that Heavenly Father brings people into our lives for special reasions, as He has you and your good husband Ray. Thank you for being there for me and if you ever need me I pray that I can be there for you as well. God Bless and Keep You I pray in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Dear Kathy,
My sister Margery (Clawson) Clark of Park City called me today about the passing of Ray, my partner in trombone for many years. Interestingly I mentiond Ray's name just this Christmas as I bought a trombone to relearn. Ray was the one to keep me going in music and I really appreciated his humor and friendship. May the Lord be with you and your family as He did with me when I lost my sweetheart, Jeanie Chase 7 years ago. You will all be in our prayers. Love

Dear Kathy:
Seems like yesterday we were at Provo High and cheering for the team; Ray was so handsome in his basketball uniform and you were so cute watching his every move.
When I read Marilyn’s and Karla’s email…many memories came… one of dashing to make it on time to Seminary… and marking our scriptures like Alma 40 12: “And then shall it come to pass that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.” means more today.
This is too real. You are the first of the old 12th Ward group to go through it…. Glad Ray is out of pain and suffering. Thank you for the choice examples you and Ray have set.
Hang in there! I know without a doubt, you may be together again. You will miss him and each time you do something you would have done together, may you feel his presence… and there will be hard days, but there will also be good days ahead… (Thea told me so.)
Wish I was close enough to give you a HUG.

Dear Kathy,
Bill and I want to tell you how sorry we are for your great loss of Ray. Bill knew him as a fellow Japanese missionary and we had so much fun talking to him at the reunions. We have kept him in our thoughts and prayers. We're happy he was able to live longer than was expected, but was deeply saddened when we saw his picture in the paper. What a wonderful husband and father he was and we were so happy that you had such a wonderful marriage with great children and grandchildren. It's always wonderful to see you at our reunions and know you will be comforted with knowing you'll be together again. Our love to you always, Vicki & Bill Walker

Ray has always been, thoughtful and considerate. He often replied to the Marshall and Daly newsletters with kind words. What a great loss to the family. May you, Kathy and family, find comfort and peace through faith in the life to come.

Ray Egan is my friend and my example. He taught me to understand and strenghten my Testimony of Jesus Christ in my life, my family, at the Church Ward I worship at(The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). Ray Egan showed me how to appreciate living the true American way of life.

I can't help but smile, even through tears, when I see Uncle Ray's smiling face in that picture. What a wonderful man he was, and perfect example of love and happiness. I'm so sad that I'm not able to be with the family this weekend to show my love and support- but know that it is there! I love you Aunt Kathy, Wendy, Angy, Kammy, Lara, Bryan and Scott!! You are all in my prayers.

Dear Kathy and family,
I received word through Jim Griffiths and I extend to you my condolences and also to your family at Ray's passing.
I fondly remember our younger years when we played a lot of "Indian Ball" and City League Basketball on Saturday mornings. Our days as Dixon Panthers and PHS Bulldogs will always be special in my mind. Though he was needed elsewhere, we know how he will be missed.
We share with you our love and ask for the sweet and healing power of the Comforter to accompany you always.
Affectionately,

Sweet Kathy,
I just received a note from Gary Stott about Ray's passing. I'm sure you can imagine that the floodgates of my mind opened as I began to recall our childhood years together and the many occasions and events that were memorable and binding. I especially remember attending Boys State in Logan with Ray and how funny he really was. But more important Kathy, I remember that he was such a good person and that he was nice to everyone. That was his greatest attribute. Everybody that I knew liked Ray Egan. What a wonderful tribute.
Kathy, blessings to you and your family. Ray could not have had a sweeter or more wonderful companion than you.
Love and blessings,
Jim

Ray was very kind when I transferred to Provo High from Orem. Our family lived around the corner from the wonderful Thorpe family. I can still envision Kathy and Ray, the quintessential high school fifties couple, walking hand in hand down the corridors of Provo High. I am confident that they will do so again in the eternities.

Dear Kathy and family,
Ray was one of the first people I met when I was transferred to Seattle. Our children still talk about meeting him at a SAFECO night at the Mariners. Ray was a good friend and mentor with an exceptionally level headed outlook on life. I will miss him very much.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you in your time of need.

Kathy and Family,
Please know that Anne and I share in your grief and loss of Ray. He was one of the finest, most optimistic, uplifting people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Working with and for him was a pleasure. I especially enjoyed our years of carpooling to CPCU and Safeco. His wisdom and willingness to share his beliefs as well as his outlook on life and current happenings were appreciated more than he ever realized. I will miss hearing his cheery greetings and thoughts. Please know that we stand ready to assist y'all in any way we can! Ray and each and every one of you are in our thoughts and prayers continually in this most difficult period. God bless and comfort you as He welcomes Ray into His eternal realm.
