Ray Hyde Obituary

Ray Lee Hyde, 63, Russellville, Ala., died Monday, April 30, 2007, at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield.

He was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and member of North Highlands Church of Christ.

Brother Ray Lee Hyde was a member of Russellville Masonic Lodge No. 371. He became a Master Mason on July 16, 1976. He was elected master of Russellville Lodge No. 371 in June, 1980, and served until June, 1981. He served as district lecturer for Group 2, District 4 (Franklin and Lawrence Counties) 1996-1999. He served as personal representative of the Grand Master of Alabama, V. Wayne Causey, from 2000 to 2001. He was a 32nd Degree KCCH member of the Scottish Rite in the Valley of-Birmingham.

He served as chairman of the George Washington Memorial Fund and taught many members. He served as a board member of Russellville Park and Recreation Department for more than 20 years. He served in the Alabama National Guard for 12 years.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, at North Highlands Church of Christ, Russellville, with Keith Barnett officiating and music by Marty Rayburn. Burial will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Hyde, Russellville, Ala.; sons, Scott Hyde and wife, Debbie, Iuka, Miss., Marty Hyde and wife, Kim, Bowie, Md.; daughter, Paula Klasing and husband, Donald, Charlotte, N.C.; mother, Luvellia Hyde, Russellville, Ala.; sisters, Peggy Innocenti and husband, Pete, Cleveland, Ohio, Emogene Baker and husband, Freed, Russellville, Ala.; grandchildren, Jessica Hyde, Blake Hyde, Hunter Hyde, Dillion Hyde, Natalie Hyde, Alex Klasing, Christopher Klasing, Makayla Finch and Barry Finch; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include David Grissom, Robert L. Jones, Robert Shook Jr., Oscar S. Lynch, Jeff Smith and Ike Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers will include Johnny Thornton, Gary Hester, Floyd Fennel and Bob Grissom.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Paul Hyde.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
