In Memoriam. Remembering Ray fondly and sending our love to Shona and family. Emily, who is now all grown up and in med school, speaks so sweetly of you two, Shona. You both enriched our lives so much! And Lauren still remembers how your nursing skills and Rays humour saved the day after she split her lip. What wonderful neighbours! Ray is dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.

I was so sorry to hear that Ray had been ill and passed away. I know our families spent lots of time together when we were young and I remember Ray being a really funny guy. After Dad died, your family were a great comfort for us and I know Vaughan really valued having some guys around to hang out with.

My thoughts are with you all and sending lots of love, Tania Smith

Dear Shona, Glenn and Krissy and families, we were very saddened to hear of the loss of Ray whom we remember with love and smiles from our years in Perth in the late 80's and early 90's. Shona you and Ray were like our surrogate parents in those days, especially when Ariana was born in 1992. I have a lovely photo of Ray holding Ari at you place in Mandurah one xmas. With our own families so far away in NZ we (that awesome group of Kiwi kids) all became our own wee family. What fun we all had back in those days above the bank. You and Ray were the perfect hosts and introduced me to a quiet Drambuie among other goodies. May he rest in peace and may his mischief ways and twinkly eyes live on in your children and grandchildren. Much love Bern, Sim and family xox

Dear Shona and family
It was always a pleasure to be in Ray's company. He was considerate, kind and thoughtful to all around him. He had a quirky sense of humour and enjoyed a joke even when he was unwell. Ray made us feel very welcome whenever we visited. We will miss you Ray.

Dear Shona, Anthony, Glen, Krissie & Joanne,

Loving memories always of Ray. And yes, some people do make a difference just by being who they are. Such a wonderful friend, who will always be missed, but never forgotten. However, the real sadness would have been, never having had him in our lives at all. Remembering in a journey the heart takes, back into a time that was, our thoughts are the only tickets needed to ride.
