HENDERSON - Services for Raymond Alton Cooper Sr. "Big Daddy Sr.," 66, of Kilgore, formerly of Laneville, will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2008, at Union Grove Baptist Church in Henderson, with the Revs. J.W. Johnson, David Cooper and Evangelist, Candy Chatman officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Laneville. Arrangements are by Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Cooper died July 8, 2008, at a Dallas hospital.
Born May 1, 1942, in Laneville, he lived in Rusk County most of his life and was retired. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Cooper; daughters, Debra Starling and Pamela Cooper Latham; sons, Tarvio Dewayne Cooper and Raymond Cooper Jr.; sisters, Oren and Marie Freeney; and brothers, David, A.W., Florance and Freddie Cooper. Visitation will be noon-6 p.m. and a wake will be 6-8 p.m. today, July 13, 2008, at the funeral home.
