Ray and I were first cousins and he was always a good friend. He visited my husband Dick and me several times while in town on business. He also called me every year on my birthday to say hello and catch up in family members. I will greatly miss him.

To our cousins, we were so sorry to hear about Uncle Ray´s passing. We all have so many good memories of coming over to your house during holidays while our parents hung out. Robin loved playing tennis with Uncle Ray when she stayed with your parents. Ray introduced me to Makers Mark-I had so much fun sitting with him sipping bourbon while Aunt Nancy shared stories about our family´s genealogy, ending each story with "don´t forget this!" Thanks to the Makers Mark that´s the only part of the story I remember! Our hearts are with you all during this sad time. Sending much love, Cindy Oberlin, Dave Halter Jr., Susan Halter and Robin Halter

My husband, Vince, and I are deeply sorry for the loss of Ray and all his family. We know him from wintering in Sarasota. We had breakfast every Sunday. He was a charming, handsome, smart (in so many ways) man, whose smile and sparkly eyes lit up room. I am certain he was welcomed with loving arms into our Father in heaven.

To Debbie, Holly ,Kim, Karen, Mickey and extended Dacek family . Sincere condolences on the sad loss of your dear Father. We will cherish the memories of our get togethers at Grey Pebble. Especially the after dinner conversations on ever subject under the sun. The native born Irish, Scottish and Dutch didn't stand a chance against Ray's knowledge & brilliant mind on our own history. All delivered with laughter and a sincere kind heart. May his gently soul rest in peace.

Our sincere condolences to the Dacek Family.
Ray was a great neighbor.
Over the years, we enjoyed hosting dinners which began with a dry martini and many interesting stories gained from a life well lived.
Next season will not be the same without Ray.

I first met Ray when I became engaged to his Brother-in law, Tom Halter. I was always greeted by Ray with a smile and a big hug. Often that was followed by a conversation where he laughingly assured me I would someday become a Republican and reminded me often when it didn´t happen. Once you met Ray, he was a man you would never forget him. His obituary beautifully describes him and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
