EAST HAMPSTEAD, N.H. — Raymond J. Duquette Sr., 79, of East Hampstead, and formerly of Raymond, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at his home.
Born in Lawrence, son of the late Sylvio and Antoinette (Charest) Duquette, he attended school in Lawrence. Mr. Duquette lived in East Hampstead for 21 years and moved to Raymond in 1986, where he lived before returning to East Hampstead eight years ago. He was a self-employed carpenter who also worked for local companies and retired from Lucent Technologies in North Andover.
He was a member of St. Anne's Church, Hampstead, and the LaSalle Social Club in South Lawrence, MA. He was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Mr. Duquette was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan who enjoyed deep-sea fishing, woodworking and oil painting.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Susan (McCusker) Duquette; three sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond J. Jr. and Linda Duquette of Hudson, N.H., William A. and Roberta Duquette of Herndon, Va., and Richard R. and Brenda Duquette of East Hampstead; a daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Albert Lahaye of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Lucille Duquette of Plaistow; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Justin Duquette.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, June 18, 2009, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Route 121A, Plaistow. His funeral will be held on Friday, June 19, 2009, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with A Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church of Holy Angels Parish, Plaistow. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow. Memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics, ATTN: Web Gifts, 1133 19th St. NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC 20036-3604.
