Ray was a great guy and always had a smile. No matter what kind of mood you were in before you came upon Ray -- you were in a much better one after. He was genuinely a true friend. My memories were his jokes and one-liners as well as the fishing stories from up at the Heinz Camp. Stories of the "ones that got away." He would always tease me that he was a senior citizen and his fishing license is now FREE". Ray was always there to help and be a friend. He will be truly missed.
My sympathies to his entire family - he always spoke of you fondly - we knew you without even meeting you. Ray was proud of you and loved you all very much.

I have so many memories of Ray from his year's at Heinz, but my favorite memories of Ray will be of him being our Santa Claus at the Heinz Frozen Food Company's Breakfast with Santa. He was a kind and generous man and we are all better for knowing him.

I had the distinct honor of knowing Ray when I worked as the Secretary of St. Thomas Church in-the-Fields. I always looked forward to his visits to the office. He was always quick with a joke and a bear hug. When my own father passed away, Ray became an honorary father to me. He was always there with a kind word and a smile. My family and I shall miss him. Our loss is heaven's gain. He has certainly earned his place there. We love you, Ray; rest in peace.

Dear Betsy and family, I am so sorry to hear the loss of Ray. What a giving man. A wonderful husband and father as you well know. Our prayers are with all of you.

We are so much richer for having known Ray. He gave of all his resources gladly. He was rich in laughter, rich in love, rich willingness of spirit, rich in a sense of adventure and excitement, and his hugs were a treasure in and of themselves. He was a shining example of what a real human could be like and his relationship with his wife, Betsy, was a great example of what a loving, supportive relationship could be like as well. The world will be poorer without him but hopefully we can share with others some of the riches he gave to us who knew him. God speed, Ray, and God bless.

There will never be another Ray. I feel so blessed to have known him for such a short time. I will never forget him. He had such a presence that was impossible to ignore. He always had the time to talk or help. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time of great sorrow.

Everyone who knew Ray, was blessed. While heaven is rejoicing to have such an angel, those of us left behind have heavy hearts. We love you Ray and will never forget you.

How do you catch a unique lion?
Unique up on him.
How do you catch a tame lion?
Tame way.......That was classic Ray Konefal. He always had a joke and a smile and a helping hand.
I had the privlige of working with Ray for many years, both inside and outside of the Heinz Co.and he was a genuine person. What you see is what you get. He was one of the most honest, forthcoming and caring people that I've ever been around. He was whirlwind of infectious enthusiasm wherever he went, always helping others and always making things better. I regret that I didn't stay in closer contact with Ray and his family after he retired.
I will truely miss this back-slapping, glad-handing, smiling, gentle friend. I will always remember him and know that he enriched so many more lives than just mine.

Iam so sorry to hear that Ray has left us. I worked with Ray for a very long time and he was a very good friend,a person that I could always count on when I needed his help. I would see Ray every so often at the store and he was as nice and he always was.
We will miss him very much.

GOD BLESS
