Raymond Molloy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 8, 2008.
MOLLOY, Raymond T. Raymond T. Molloy, 67, of Margate, FL and formerly of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Thursday (April 24, 2008), at the Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, FL after a brief illness. Born in Hartford on November 22, 1940, a son of the late Thomas J. and Jean (Ruggiero) Molloy, he had resided on Brewer Street, East Hartford for 34 years prior to moving to Florida ten years ago. Prior to his retirement Raymond was an ironworker with the Local #15 in Hartford for 45 years. Raymond was very active with the Retirees of Local #15 and was a loyal baseball fan of the Boston Red Sox. However, what mattered most to Raymond in his life were his two children and being a very proud, loving grandfather. Raymond will also be remembered by all who knew him as having a "big heart" for everyone, especially those in need. Along with his parents, a sister, Patricia Petruzello Lambert formerly of South Windsor, predeceased Raymond. Raymond is survived by a devoted son, Thomas R. Molloy of Margate, FL, with whom he made his home; a beloved daughter, Kellie A. Molloy Hazel of Mansfield; three adored grandchildren, Mallory Hazel, Alexa Hazel, Damon Burger; former wife, Lucille (Capodicasa) Molloy of East Hartford; former mother-in-law, Josephine Capodicasa of Glastonbury; four former brothers-in-law, Ronald, Mark, Sebastian, and Steven Capodicasa; a niece and nephew, Dawn and Daniel Petruzello both formerly of South Windsor; and several other relatives and dear friends. Funeral service will be Saturday May 10 with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12 Noon at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. There are no calling hours. The D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements. Lucille, Kelly, and Tom,

I am sorry to hear of Ray's passing. It has been a long time but lot's of memories at your house and at the Capodicasa's and the neighborhood. Ray was always a great guy and always made me feel like I was part of your family when I stayed over. I will always remember him with a smile.

Tom, Kelly, Lucille and family,
Raymond and I shared many memories, beginning as young ironworkers together in 1964. Raymond was a unique individual, a big heart and a quick smile....he has earned a place in Local 15's "Ironworker folk lore" and will be remembered by all of our generation.
Tom, you truly took good care of your Dad, he was very proud of you.
Kelly, you were his baby and he loved the Grand kids.
Lucille, you were the love of his life, no matter what.
I am sorry that I cannot attend the service, I will be there in spirit and when I get back in town I will visit Raymond's grave and pray for him.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
Sincerely,
E. Michael Blackburn
