MORIN _ Raymond 1919 - 2002 Ray Morin, beloved husband of Doris, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at the age of 82 years. Ray was the loving father of three sons and daughters-in-law, Max and Lynda, Larry and Evelyn, Ray and Rhonda; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Terry Copot, Marilyn and Brian Blattler; two other special family members, Lynn and Janice. He loved his grandchildren and they loved him dearly, Michelle (Matthew Black), Sean, and Renee Morin; Shannon, Scott and Meghan Morin; Sara Morin; Michael and Chris Copot; Daniel and Gregory Blattler. Ray and Doris shared fifty-five years of love together with each other and their family. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather-to-be who led an exemplary life. His love of family, honesty, strong faith, wonderful sense of humour, and gentle kindness will be remembered by all. Our dad loved to read and tend his rose gardens, and we will all fondly remember him in his family room chair having long chats, reading a good book, or watching a good western movie. Ray was born on the family farm near Lafleche, SK, the son of Nelson and Bridget Morin. He was the youngest of seven siblings who have all since passed away (Ella, Larry, Bernadette, Myrtle, Sam, Violet, and Gilbert). Ray began his business career in the film industry as a projectionist. He spent years in Regina, then Vancouver, and finally Winnipeg after which he started his own real estate business. He returned to Regina where he continued in real estate and was involved in custom home building. Ray's adventurous side led him to High River where he owned and operated the Wales Theatre and Drive-In. In 1969 he again returned to real estate in Calgary. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to embark on many projects, but his greatest business accomplishment was when he joined his sons, Max, Larry and Ray Jr. in 1983 to build and expand their family business at the Calgary and Edmonton Auto Auctions. Ray helped develop this business into one of Calgary's leading privately owned corporations. These achievements were recognized with the business being awarded Top 10 status in Calgary's Private 100 for four years running. There are no words to express our sorrow and how deeply we will miss our best friend. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Thursday, July 25, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Friday, July 26, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
