PEORIA - Raymond A. Paar, 68, of Peoria died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 17, 1943, in Peoria to John and Catherine Farrah Paar. Raymond married Karen M. Boehle on June 7, 1969, in Dixon, Ill. She died March 19, 2008, in Peoria.
Also preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Joan Casey.
He is survived by a son, Michael Paar of Peoria; a daughter, Kristine Hamann of Peoria, Ariz.; a brother, J.B. Paar of Peoria; and two grandchildren, Lanna Hamann and Lexie Ring.
Raymond worked as a bricklayer for 40 years with the Bricklayers Local No. 6 of Illinois until retirement.
He was an Army veteran earning the classification of marksman on the rifle team.
He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, the Izaak Walton League and the Allendale Conservation Club.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, with the Rev. Christopher Layden officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with a Scripture service at 5:45 p.m. Further visitation will be half hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Raymond Paar grandchildrens education fund c/o CEFCU.

So very sorry to hear of your loss. I remember when Ray was my little league coach. We had a great time and he was a fun coach that cared about all of his players. I am glad he was our coach.

JB and rest of family. I am sorry to hear of cousin Raymond passing.
You and Raymond were like my older brothers. I charish the old days as i get older. Not much of the Farrah family left. if yo dont recognize the name i am Donna's oldest.
