Raymond Floyd Pitman Sr.

Ray and Betty were wonderful people. I only wish I had met them when I was younger so I would have had the pleasure to be around them for many years. Rest in peace and may your family be comforted to know how loved you both were by everyone who met you.

I was just looking up Ray to call him for his 90th birthday Sunday when I saw this. I am completely heartbroken that I was not there to pay my respects in person. Ray was one of the greatest characters that I have ever had the privilege to know. I will miss him and everything about him.

Ray was a great man, I was so lucky to have met him & work for him. He took me, my wife Rose & daughter Renee in as his kids and granddaughter. He took me to fancy dinners, dressed me in a suit, told Rose not to cook or clean, always carried Renee & spoiled her. He taught us so much and gave a big helping hand. Was and always well be my kids Renee Horse, Shania, Kalamity, Megan, Renetta Francisco, Jimmy Jr & Tracys Kansas grandpa. When we left Kansas we broke Ray & Bettys heart now hearing about my dad Rays passing it broke my heart. Our condolences, prayers and thoughts to the Pittman Family.

My heart goes out to the Pitman Family. I worked for Ray for 20 years and always considered him as a good friend and a wonderful giving boss. Thanks Ray for all the good years!

Our condolences to the family and friends. Ray was a good man. Who was a positive influence in many peoples lives. My brother worked for Ray at RO. I remember my brother referring to him as "Daddy Ray". You're in our prayers. The family of Bobby Hinds.

To the entire Pitman family-what an honor it was to live across the street from you for so many years on 85th and Roe. We were able to share each other's holidays as we all grew up together, and our lives will forever be linked in a special bond.

Loved "Uncle Ray!" We all loved him, at Aberdeen Village. He was such an important part our fiber. I will always be grateful for his friendship. I was a lucky one who received one of his special pens. Thanks, Ray! Thanks, Pitman family, for sharing your parents with us. He and Betty will remain in our hearts forever. :)

With deepest sympathy, I never met Raymond, but Misty Parker, care giver is our daughter and she loved working and talking to him. She thought the world of him and said he reminded her a lot of her Grandpa Flowers. She enjoyed talking to his family and helping them during his final days. Peace to all.

We were honored to have Ray on our May 2013 Honor Flight to Washington DC. I will never forget the smile on his face as he exited the aircraft at KCI at the end of that long day. On behalf of Heartland Honor Flight, I salute you!

Ray always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile even for a business adversary like myself.I remember the time i was trying to operate a derrick and i dropped the digger into the truck cab.Ray turned to a group and said " You don"t have to kow how to operate them in order to sell them"Rest in peace old friend

Ray was a very patient man with so much to teach as I recall. I went to work for Ray at Pioneer in 1995 as a floor mechanic & within a month, he drug me in off the floor & told me, "You sit here now" That was the start of a career I was not aware of at the time. He & Dick Stallbaumer gave me all the knowledge to become a Service Manager which I to this day continue with. I owe Ray with the credit of how I got to this point. As Ray would say, Once you are in my army, you never get out"

I am blessed to have known Mr. Ray Pitman, the man that inspired and mentored my husband that set his career path in hydraulic chasiss mounted cranes 20 years ago. I will always feel honored that he attended our wedding almost 7 years ago. At the wedding Ray sat next to my boss, Don, and Don expressed to me how impressed he was with Ray and how sharp he was. That was the first time they had meet. I'm sure he made these impressions for so many people during his life...what a great legacy he left for us. He is missed dearly, so I pray Ray Pitmans' family and friends find comfort soon.

I love you Grandpa. You truly were a man of heart and wisdom and I only wish we had more time to share. I will always keep with me, the encouragement you gave a 12 year old girl to follow her dreams and that it is ok to dream big!! I love you!

My heartfelt sympathy goes to Ray's family. Ray and my father worked together when they were young at Pitman Construction. (Ray's father's business) Ray was with my Dad when he was hurt on the job.
In the early '70's, I also worked for Ray at RO Products in Olathe. I visited him several times the past few years on my visits back to Olathe. He was such a interesting, kind, loving man and so proud of his country and his family.
May you find comfort in knowing that he touched so many lives.

I had the great pleasure of working for Mr. Pitman twice in my life for a period of about 15 to 20 years. I have never known a more interesting, caring, concerned and honorable man in my life. My wife Becky and I send our most sincere condolences and sympathy to his family. There truly never will be another like him.

I am honored to have met you in your last days.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Pitman. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

God Bless you and your family. I worked with Ray for 23 yrs. He was a great man and accomplished so many new products and always was thinking of something more to do for the equipment industry.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Ray was a true icon and such a charming man. I have such good memories of him, especially with the cowhide cowboy boots at Chiefs games. He created an impact on so many lives. He will be missed.
