RAYMOND SANDS Obituary
Age 88, of Valencia, formerly New Bern, NC and Somers, NY, passed away on June 20, 2018. Beloved husband for 60 years of M. Eleanor MacDonald Sands; father of James (Bonnie) Sands and Kathleen (Paul) Lagnese; proud grandfather of Patrick (Jamie) Sands, Colleen Sands, Julia Lagnese and Emily Lagnese. Friends received Sunday 2-5 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Richard Church. Private interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Bern, NC, at a later date. A Korean War U.S. Navy veteran, Ray was a longtime lineman supervisor with New York Bell Telephone Co. He enjoyed golf, boating, and being with friends and family. A very special thank you to the staff at The Arbors of Valencia Woods and Good Samaritan Hospice Wexford for their loving and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Association, 1100 Liberty Ave., Pgh., PA 15222 or Good Samaritan Hospice, 116 Browns Hill Rd., Valencia, PA 16059.
