Raymond SCHNURR

Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 77. Beloved husband of the late Cheryl (nee Duench) for 53 years. Loving father of Kim Schnurr and Pam Langer (Ron). Cherished grandfather of Gavin Langer and Ashley Wright (Steve) and great grandfather of Cameron and Claire. Brother of Theresa Hummel (late Irvine), Patricia Hummel (Tom), Ed (Marg) and Dave Schnurr (late Joyce). Fondly remembered by extended family and friends, especially close family friend of 72 years, Donna Bos. Predeceased by parents Harold and Marie (nee Dorscht), siblings Marlene Stemmler (Ken) and Corrine Schnurr, parents-in-law Howard, and Edith Duench (nee Wigglesworth) and brother-in-law Bill Duench. Special thanks to the 5 North nurses and doctors at Grand River Hospital. Ray's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 12:00-12:45 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023, followed by the memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 1:00. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or Grand River Hospital Foundation - Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
