Peggy and Family, we are so very sorry to read of Ray's death. He was a special and unique man who loved you and his family dearly, as well as life. I remember the times you told me about driving him around the Island sharing your love of Whidbey and spending time together and coming to my house to help us. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Family~
Little did I know what a huge blessing Poppa Ray would be not only to me but those I love so much. I remember meeting him at Skagit when my Mom went there. Then again after I was married to David. I can remember it being winter, going out to the beach house, his tree up, him in sweats and a t-shirt. Telling him my mother in law was single and he should call her or write her a letter. Being the outgoing guy he is, he did. She moved out to Washington and one thing led to another. They were married in 1993, the same year we had our first daughter. He has been a great father in law to me,a fantastic step-dad to David and a very wonderful Grandpa (Poppa) to our girls. They love him so much and him being proud of them means the world to them. Our hearts are heavy and we will miss him dearly. He is the type of person who comes in and leaves footprints upon your heart. Thank you Ray for that. For loving David's Mother Peggy the way you have, for taking such sweet care of her. ~ Always~ Heather
