Rebecca Thaxton Henderson

Rebecca Thaxton Henderson, 74, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away suddenly on November 15, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1951, in Newport, Arkansas, to Marvin and Carolyn Thaxton.

Becky was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She loved fishing, hosting holidays at her house, spending time at the lake, and making memories with her grandchildren. Her warmth, servant's heart, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She loved Jesus and was a constant prayer warrior.

She was a graduate of Newport High School in 1969 and went on to attend the University of Arkansas as a member of the Kappa Kappa Gama sorority. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1973 and later got her master's degree in 1978, also from the University of Arkansas. She worked in education as a home economics teacher before transitioning to being a stay at home mom. More recently, she worked with Arkansas State University where she used her passion for early childhood development.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Henderson, her sister Gail Folgeman, and her children Sarah Pennington (Lee Pennington), Matthew Henderson (Chanie Henderson), and Rebecca Brannon (Stephen Brannon). Becky was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren: Faith Pennington, Peyton Pennington, Ian Pennington, Chanie Kate Henderson, Cooper Brannon, Aaron Henderson, Brooks Brannon, and Asher Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Carolyn Thaxton, her brother Mart Thaxton, son Paul David Henderson and two grandsons, Andrew Henderson and Aiden Henderson.

A celebration of Becky's life will be held on November 20th 11:30 am at Fellowship Bible Church in West Little Rock. Visitation will follow immediately after the service.
