Rebecca McGowan

Beckie occupied a very cherished place in my heart.
Time spent with her was always precious. I wish that I had maintained contact with her even though our paths parted.

I was only 17 in my first summer in Glacier National Park, as a lowly busboy. "Becca" was a dishwasher who would brighten every day with her smile and wit. She had an amazing career which I'm sure she'd attribute to those wonderful summers in Montana and Lake McDonald Lodge. I wish I could have contacted her earlier.

Becky McGowan supported many important initiatives at the University of Michigan as Regent. I will be forever grateful for her passion and interest to fund and support the building of CS Mott Children's Hospital. With her partner David Brandon they made the case and led important efforts at the earliest phase of this effort. Her unbridled determination and can do approach were critical. Our daughter was lucky to know Rebecca and her daughter Margot and will always be better for it. Forever grateful and remembered. Valerie Opipari
