Rebecca Van Schoick Obituary
Becca is survived by her parents Bob and Nelda Van Schoick of Watkinsville, sisters Robbi Van Schoick and Katie Kilch (Kyle), and newborn niece Anne Elizabeth Kilch.
Becca met challenges with fierce determination and had goals that often seemed impossible to those around her. She loved her dog Kringle, the beauty and meaning of Nature, and her family and friends. She was a fan of the Fighting Irish and considered her 4 years at Norte Dame the best of her life.
Services will be held at Village Hall at the Georgia Club at 4:00pm on Wednesday, May 25. A reception will follow.

Rebecca's life and her story of triumph over adversity and meeting challenges with strength, determination and resilience will shine on. The VanSchoick's are an amazing family, and I was blessed to get to know them during my time in Athens and at UGA. I had the honor of attending the most beautiful service yesterday for Becca. I never met her, but after hearing dozens of uplifting and funny stories about her, I can truly appreciate the depth of loss to her family and friends. Mike and I were sadden to learn of the passing of Rebecca. Although, it has been many years since we last saw your family, we will always remember the beautiful, cheerful, Rebecca we met at the fundraiser in Morristown NJ, in 1993. I was an RA Becca's freshman year in McGlinn. Before she came, we were so worried about how we were going to take care of her, since none of us had any experience with FA. It wasn't until after we met her that we realized she didn't need us to take care of her. She took care of us!! Now I am a speech-language pathologist. I think of Becca often in my work, and I always will. She was truly an inspiring woman.
