Rebecca Wagnon Obituary
Passed from this earth into the arms of her Savior on May 9th, 2022. She is proceeded in death by her husband of 41 years, Travis Lamar Wagnon, Jr., her mother, and her father.
Born August 27th, 1953, in Martinton, Illinois to Clarence and Irene Stuckey. She shared her birthday with her grandmother, something she remembered fondly.
Becki's love of education and music came from her mother, a career teacher and musician. She learned to play piano at a very young age. She went on to graduate with a double major in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Eastern Illinois University. A diligent student, she earned her Master's degree in Vocal Performance and Conducting in just one year. She then taught music at the high school level for the next 10 years in Hersher, Romeoville, Bolingbrook, and Joliet, Illinois.
Dissatisfied with teaching, she moved on to get her real estate license in 1985. She started her own real estate company and quickly found success. From 1986 until the early 2000's, she owned and brokered multiple real estate offices across the Joliet, IL area.
Around 2002, she felt the call to return to teaching, and sold her real estate business. She maintained her real estate license but chose to broaden her scope to mission work. Becki took a position at a school of theology in Kisumu, Kenya where she taught three consecutive winter terms. She then returned home and continued teaching in Joliet. She taught music for eight years and then retired from the Illinois Public Schools.
Unfulfilled with retirement, Becki again felt the pull to help others. She and Lamar moved to Plevna, Montana in 2017. She taught music to grades K-12 up until her death. She was surrounded by a loving community that welcomed them with open arms.
Becki is survived by her two brothers, Mark (Trudy) Stuckey and Kevin (Kristina) Stuckey and families; daughter Marci (Michael) Jackson and their two children, Henry and Alice; and granddaughters Hannah (Josh) Marshall and Brenna Wagnon.
The funeral will be held at Minooka United Methodist Church on July 19th, 2022 at 9:00AM with a private joint burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors for Lamar to follow.

Miss emailing with Becki.
She & Lamar gave so much to others.
It was a joy to have her play at my Dad's Memorial service in Martinton (Isadore Lee Stuckey)
We were roommates in my home in Charleston when she was at EIU
It was a joy to hear she was able to spend time with Marci's family during her health struggles.
Heaven has welcomed another fine angel.

Dear Marci and family,
I was saddened by the loss of your mother. I worked with her at Washington Junior High. She was an outstanding teacher who gave so much to her students. I admired her passion, energy, kindness, and decency. She made the world a better place.

Dear Marci and family,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. She was a friend in high school and sang at my wedding. I remember you singing at church as a very young child and how Proud she was to bring you `back home´.
She was a friend I missed as we got older, and I always enjoyed her posts on Facebook. I hope she knew how much she meant to so many.

She was my music teacher/choir director at Washington Jr high school. I remember her fondly. She was definitely one of my best teachers from the school. She actually showed that she cared about her kids and it meant more then she probably ever knew. Deepest condolences to the family.

Mrs.Wagnon was my choir director in Jr high . She sparked my passion for music and even gave me private lessons . I remember her daughter coming in to sing for us occasionally and even teaching me to direct . She is a core memory in my childhood and I hope she rests peacefully knowing she gave more children the same memories she gave me .
