I first met Reid at Vanderbilt where he and I were members of the Kappa Alpha social fraternity. He had gone to Westminister in Atlanta where he was quite the swimming athlete and scholar. He had a great talent for winning your trust and he always seemed super creative with new ideas. And once he came up with a remarkable creative idea he could persuade you with ease that his idea was the best way forward. He had great leadership skills along with a great sense of humour. He nearly always had some clever phrase that would crack us up with perfect timing. After graduating from Vandy we went our separate ways. He did well in real estate and I went aerospace engineering. He called me up in 2019 and wanted to see my Long Leaf Pine Tree farm close to Dublin, Ga.. I was headed back to Ohio and I wish I could have stayed a couple of days longer in Ga and let him come down to see how I was growing Long Leaf Pine trees but I was in a hurry to get back to Ohio and we did not get together to my regret. Reid was the person who stood out with his great smile and demeanor. He always had something to say that would brighten your day. You will be missed Reid ! You have no doubt started a new great band with the Angels in heaven.

I was just made aware of Reid´s passing, and I will be praying for your family. I have very special memories of Reid visiting with his grandparents in Lithonia. I grew up living next door to them, my Aunt Florre and Uncle Charlie. Love from cousin Pam!

Reid was my close friend from dot to 7th grade. He accompanied both of us on guitar as we sang "O bladi O blada" by the Beatles for Avondale Elem. talent show. I am so glad to learn that he continued playing music. He was an innate musician. God holds him now in his loving embrace.

I am so sad.

Reid and I were teammates at Westminster. We won state championships in both 74 and 75, which could never have happened without Reid winning on Friday night. Reid was money in the bank.

Reid was always first class in everything he did. Billy Ray and Pete are waiting for you ......

Godspeed,
Ben Joel

I am so sad!!!
Reid and I were teammates at Westminster. He handled the diving and we handled the swimming. We won 2 state championships in `74 and `75 which would not have been possible without Reid´s first place on that Friday night. Reid was money in the bank.

We joined Westminster Hall of Fame together and will always be together as teammates under our coaches Billy Ray and Pete.

Reid was First Class all the way.
