For those of us who did a 20 or more year Marine career and were lucky enough to have a Squadron command, every decision we ever made began and ended with "What would Chief Leu do in this situation??" I'll bet that those of you who persued different occupations did that too. What a wonderful thing to have guided so many people so well. THANKS, CHIEF!

Good bye to my first and best Viet Nam skipper. Chief Leu was everything a young Nugget could ask for in a leader, mentor and example. My condolences to the family on the passing of a great Patriot and family man.

I met Chief Leu when I checked into his soon to deploy squadron at New River, N.C. in November 1962 as a brand new 2nd Lieutenant. To a newbie like myself the man was larger than life. He led us into combat in Vietnam, not figuratively, but literally.
He remained a role model for me throughout my life.
Thank you Chief. Semper Fi.

I am so sorry for your loss. He sounded like a great man. I am so sorry I did not have the opportunity to meet and get to know him. I thought the service was Friday at 2, but I just found out it was today at 2. I am again sorry that I missed it. May God grant you all peace and healing and comfort through Jesus Christ our Lord. I was very saddened to hear of the passing of my good friend. We enjoyed many hours of golf together. He was a very rare man. It was an honor to be called "friend" by Chief Leu. If there were a life to be patterned after, you cound not have a better model than Chief. God now has a very honored angel now.

I am saddened that my good neighbor, "Chief" has passed. We were neighbors first when he and Katherine bought the house across the street from me, and again after her death when he married Mia,
both very dear to me.
His family can rest knowing he was a good man, a kind man of unquestionable honor. I was always proud to know him and call him my neighbor.
My sincere condolences to his family.

And for the Veteran, may there always be others to follow in your footsteps to protect this great Nation. Your Nephew, Brother and Comrade in Arms. MCPO-CGRF-1

To all the family,
I am very sorry to hear about the "Chief's" passing.I have always admired him for his service to this country and his friendship. Always enjoyed playing golf and visiting his home to view all the wartime flying photos. We have all lost a good man. May God bless all the family at this time.
