Remsen Barnard IV Obituary
Remsen was a loving husband to Vera, a devoted father to Jennifer, and a cherished grandfather to Tony, Tyler, Travis, and Kasey, as well as a great-grandfather to Travis Jr, Reid, and Jameson. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Ludo, and his siblings Bill, Tom, JD, and Susanne, and his son-in-law Chuck.
A proud veteran, Remsen served in the United States Navy Patrol Squadron 47 during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he pursued a successful career as a lawyer, specializing in Estate Law and Contract Law. Remsen was an alumnus of St. Andrews High School, Trinity College, and Golden Gate Law School.
In his free time, Remsen enjoyed sailing, wine tasting, jazz music, spending time with his grandchildren, playing poker and bridge, and attending rotary meetings. He was a music enthusiast, with a particular love for Jimmy Buffet and blues concerts. Remsen also enjoyed skiing and watching hockey games.
Known for his kindness, generosity, and active involvement in his community, Remsen will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Also, sailing on the San Francisco Bay! He was quite the Captain making sure everyone was having the best time! He lived a good life with V @ his side! He was loved and will be missed alot!

I met Rem many years ago as we were both Walnut Creek Rotarians. I have fond memories of being invited to a few of his poker gatherings. I always walked away amazed at how he and his buddies played the most obscure poker games I had ever experienced...I suspect that made me the "pigeon" at the table. My fondest memory is discovering we both loved Manhattans, see photo, and we made a point of toasting one every annual holiday party. Cheers Rem!

He took me sailing, to court to show me, welcomed me to his home, flew across the Atlantic for my wedding. I'll miss him.
