I am so sorry to hear about Rena. I have great memories of grade school and high school. I remember going to her house for a party in elementary school and being together in our made up "boys clubs" (clubs where we all liked the same boy). Those were good and happy times. I know she will live on in you two sons. My thoughts are with you.

Rena I will miss you dearly my friend. I prayed for a mentor to teach me about essential oils and GOD delivered You. You have been my friend and teacher. Brandon and Jonathan, your mom was the wind beneath my wings and the sister of my heart. She was a very special lady that gave to everybody she met and then some. We now have an angel up above watching over us forever. Because of her I now have many sisters from art class and that is an exceptional gift from your mom, which I cherish very much. Keeping you both in my prayers.

Words cannot express my sorrow at the loss of my dear cousin and friend, Rena. She has not only given me artistic beauty with her paintings, but she has given me love, friendship, encouragement, and support to live a hoistic life of health and grace. Her faith was very strong, even when I visited her this past Christmas. Rena had many gifts, more than I can mention. Her legacy will go on for a long time with all she did for those she came into contact. My prayers are with Brandon and Jonathan and all her family and friends. Her spirit will always be with me!

Rena had a beautiful painting on display at Goudchaux of Madonna and child. This had to be at least 35 years ago. To this day I beleive it to be one of the most beautiful I have seen.

Rena will be greatly missed for she loved God, people, and graciously tried to share her heart and her knowledge of healing with essential oils so that others would be helped. So shocked to see Rena's obituary in todays Advocate. I have been living in Washington, DC for the past year and read online periodically. Rena was not only a talented artist/teacher, but a true friend to all! For 45 years I lived in a small county in Western North Carolina, when we moved to Baton Rouge in 1995 I was lost and lonely. My now dear friend suggested paint classes with Rena. Little did I know that over the years that Rena would not only teach me to paint, but would embrace me, love me, empower me, dousing me with essential oils we would laugh or cry together. She was not just a teacher and healer but bound her students together as sisters and she was our core. Rena is our angel now and I am certain she is still looking over us with love. My thoughts and prayers are with her dear sons.
