Dearest Uncle Rene...while your were Alphonse Piccarreto's cousin we were always directed to call you Uncle...that was the respect you earned and I'm proud of it to this day...l write to Thank you for your service...I think of you often and hope that everyone who reads this understands that your service to your country during World War ll would find you at Iwo Jima which was a huge Victory for the US and the our allies. This battle would weigh heavy for our lost Brother's and Sister's...Thank You Sir...you're are truly an American Hero...Please rest in Peace...

So sorry to learn of the loss of your father. I will remember him pitching softball to the neighborhood kids, and taking us for ice cream at De Ryke Dairy afterward. It has been a long time since we were neighbors, but the memories remain strong.
