Rene Margaret Wilson

Rene Margaret Wilson (née Grinnell), aged 100, passed away on November 6, 2023, in Arcadia, CA. She was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Chevy Chase, MD. Rene earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. She was a dedicated Office Manager for H. Thomas Wilson, AIA and Associates, and was actively involved in various NGO's and volunteer organizations, including the United Nations Association, where she received a lifetime achievement award in New York.

Rene was a cherished member of Pasadena Presbyterian Church and also attended All Saints Episcopal in Pasadena. She found joy in singing in the choir at Pasadena Presbyterian and even sang with combined choirs at the Opening Ceremony of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. Her commitment to serving the community was evident through her involvement with the Coalition of Governmental Commissions and Councils on Aging in LA County, as well as her service on the Grand Jury.

Rene was predeceased by her beloved husband, H. Thomas Wilson. A service in her memory took place at Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church in Chevy Chase, MD. She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, her community, and her passions.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Frank Ross Wilson of Blairstown, NJ, Lucy Wilson Dorenfeld of Lake Bluff, IL, Anna Wilson Keller of Takoma Park, MD, David Randolf Wilson of Fairfax, VA; Elizabeth Davis Holmes of Alexandria, VA, Carol Davis O'Toole of Arcadia, CA; Leonard Davis of Eden Prairie, MN, Margaret Brown Erke of Chillicothe, MO, and Barbara Brown of Costa Mesa, CA.
