Renee Dixon Obituary

Renee Elizabeth Thinnes Dixon (May 16th 1946 - October 12th 2024)

On Saturday October 12, the gates of Heaven flew wide open and welcomed our angel home. Renee Elizabeth Thinnes Dixon, age 78, loving mother, and adoring wife to husband Dr. Darrell Dixon, passed away with a courageous battle with Dementia, surrounded by her loved ones in The Woodlands, Tx.

Reny was born in Pleasant View, Utah on May 16, 1946. She grew up on a farm surrounded by family until she married her high school sweetheart Darrell. They married on August 30th, 1968 and began a life full of many adventures and memories.

Reny was creative and she was always ahead of her time. She wore many hats in her career such as working as a dietician at St. Benedicts Hospital, working at the Defense Depot, and the VA in S.L.C but she was most passionate about interior design. She spent several years in Ogden, Utah giving her time to designing fundraising events such as Spree. She had a gift for turning something mediocre into a masterpiece. She loved doing flower displays for weddings and helping people design their homes. Reny's hobbies included spending time with her family, friends, and furry children. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, cooking and crafts.

Her children would boast that they had the best mother in the world, she was unlike any mother, wife, or friend. She was a dramatic storyteller, had an incredible sense of humor, and she would have done anything for anyone. Reny was one of a kind. Her beautiful smile and laughter would light up the whole room. She loved serving God and her main goal in life was that everyone was happy. She was exactly what this world needed. She made this world a better place by how she treated everyone she met. She was kind and giving and left people feeling better about themselves. She was the best example of a Christian woman and we are all better for knowing this amazing angel.

Reny will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by Zeno and Edith Thinnes of Pleasant View, Ut whom she was raised and had a special relationship with. Also those who passed before her were her parents, Serio Olivieri and Delores Olson and in-laws Naida and Darrell Dixon, and Reny and Darrell's son, Peter Dixon. She will be welcomed at Heaven's gates by many family members who have gone before her including: Bud and Cecilia Wardle, Maurice Thinnes, James Dixon, Craig Bingham, Douglas Olsen, and Rolayne Vanbuskirk. She is survived by her husband Darrell Dixon, her children Brody Dixon, Tryge and wife Jennifer Dixon, Megan Mierswa, and Hali Dixon. Her grandchildren Kinley Davis, Zander and Zaylee Dixon, Aurora and Jude Dixon, and Mazlyn and McKellen Mierswa and a host of many friends, family, and loved ones.

The Dixon's would like to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy, prayers, and all acts of kindness. A celebration of the life of Renee will be held in her hometown of Ogden, Utah on Saturday, February 1st, 2-5p at the 5th Floor. 2411 Kiesel Ave STE 502, Ogden, UT 84401.
