Renee Rapoport (née Farber)

December 2, 1950 - July 22, 2025

With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life full of love, strength, and humor, the family of Renee Lynn Rapoport announces her passing on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 74. Renee is predeceased by her loving parents Shirley and Abe Farber.

Renee was the beloved mother and mother-in-law of Melissa and Daniel Berlin, and Sam and Rebecca Rapoport; and the adoring Bubby of Ethan, Rachel, Ava, and Josh Berlin, and Jordy and Tobin Rapoport. She was the devoted wife of the late Avrum Rapoport, and the cherished partner of Joel Nitzberg. Renee was the deeply loved sister of Jeffrey Farber (Barbara), Paul Farber (Maura), and David Rapoport (Ann-Lynn). Adoring aunt to Melanie and Minh, Allison and Dean, Brandon and Inna, and Diana and Lauren. Loving great-aunt to Kayla, Abi, Eli, Jonah, Tali and Ari.

Renee will be remembered for her fierce love, quick wit, and generous spirit. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel seen, heard, and valued-always offering honesty wrapped in warmth, and humor laced with insight. Her strength in the face of illness was a lesson in resilience, and her love for her family was the constant center of her world.

She leaves behind a legacy of connection, laughter, and unshakable loyalty. Her presence will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff of Memorial Sloan Kettering in both New Jersey and New York City for their compassion and care.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Renee's memory may be made to Leukemia research at Memorial Sloan Kettering through the family's fundraising page, linked on Renee's Facebook page or at: http://mskcc.convio.net/goto/renee
