I can't begin to express my deep sadness upon hearing that Dr. Nichols had passed away. I have been blessed to have Dr. Nichols as my doctor for over twenty years. You don't find doctors like him these days. His love of medicine as well as his patients made him a great doctor as well as a friend. I will miss him dearly.

You were like a second father to me. I will always remember you. May you rest in peace - you surely deserve the right to.

I had known Dr. Nichols (Nick) or as I called him, "Reuben R", since I was a medical student. I knew him to be a competent caring physican, a loyal colleague, but most of all a dear friend.
Reuben R had a way of offering his opinion whether you wanted it or not. He was always willing to assist in patient care and always provided levity and support in difficult situations. His approach to patient care was novel, at times, but always appropriate to the task at hand.
I will miss his seriousness, his laughter, his uncanny wisdom, his stories of struggle and accomplishments during his training, and most of all, our collaberation as urban physicians.
