Rev. Delbert Mitchell Puett

Rev. Delbert Mitchell Puett, age 76, of Bloomington, died Tuesday morning at the I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospice House. Born January 5, 1938 in Bloomington, he was the son of George and Laura (Drake) Puett. He was the former pastor of the Abundant Life Church of Jesus Christ (Abundant Life Church) in Unionville. He loved traveling, fishing and especially restoring old cars. He was the proud owner of a 1931 Ford Model "A".
He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene "Ruth" (Clayton) Puett, of Bloomington; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Terry Byers, of Springville; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bobby Harden, of Springville; four brothers, Horace Puett, of Alabama, Kenny Puett, of Bloomfield and Jesse Puett and Odell Puett, both of Bloomington; three sisters, Betty Jane Hall, of Bloomington, Sue Thompson, of Bloomfield and Phyllis Shake, of Odon, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren and three sisters, Delcine Puett, Martha Parks and Barbara Jean Puett.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Bloomington. Cremation will follow at a later time. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The family suggests any memorial contributions be given to I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospice.
