Our family has fond memories of Rev.Copeland and his family from The Methodist Camp on Stoney Creek. My Grandmother, Ruth McNew, worked at the Camp in the kitchen for several years and thought very highly of Mr.Copeland and his family. Rev.Copeland was so kind to hold her funeral in 2005. Rev.Copeland was a gentle and gracious man. May the memories you have warm your heart.

Suzy and family,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Rev. Copeland. I always enjoyed our services when he would fill in for us at Pennington FUMC.
It's hard to let them go, but knowing where he is offers comfort and hope. Just know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mary Lynne, Brenda, Suzy, Christi, family and all Bob's many friends...Bob, from the very first time we met always greeted me with the term, "country preacher" but for me, Bob was the one who deserved it. Bob was the preacher's preacher! I am so glad I got to know him and that he accepted me as his friend. I am saddened and yet encouraged that Bob has finished his course and kept the faith. I know you will miss him but I know the Holy Spirit will comfort you as we were promised.
Our love to you,
Rev-Roy and Ruth Corbin

To Mary Lynne and the girls and the entire Copeland family we send our deepest heartfelt condolences on the loss of Brother Bob. We can relate personally and first hand how "special" he was to many people. Back in the early 60's he was our minister at Rutherford Memorial United Methodist in Corryton, TN. He built a large and very active Youth Group and we were very loyal excited participating members. We did it all, skating, bowling, swimming, hiking, hay rides, camp, projects. We had the "coolest" and perhaps one of the youngest Methodist ministers in the entire Holston Conference. After all Brother Bob was the only "preacher" we knew, or had ever heard of, that had a 1965 Chevy Super Sport, with a 4 Speed in the floor manual Transmission. On June 20th 1965 (49 years ago-almost a half century), Brother Bob married the two of us. It lasted. A few years ago, along with our friends Joe and Becky we visited Brother Bob and Mary Lynne at his church in Loudon, TN just before they moved from there. They had'nt changed very much. Practically everyone in our church and the Corryton Community loved Brother Bob and were sad when he and his family left our community. Even today, a few people still occasionally tell a funny "Brother Bob story" which results in group laughter and warm feelings. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Copeland Family - My dad and mom, Dock and Bertha Johnston, attended Holston View and loved Pastor Copeland. We are grateful for his many years of service to the Lord Jesus. I enjoyed his preaching and knew of their appreciation for him.
