My grandfather is my hero. He was an amazing father, friend, wise counselor and Pastor. He lived life to the fullest. He was a class act and true gentleman. I was blessed by his Christ like behavior and his loving kindness. He changed my life for the better and I will continue to upkeep his legacy.

I love you forever, Papa.

Love always,

Tymeesa Rutledge

Our sincere condolences go out the the Rutledge family. My grandmother was a long-time member of NOMBC and I spent many years running the hallways of this Church under the direction of Rev. Rudledge. He was a quite man of faith and wisdom who left his mark on many.

I was researching my family tree and found Sylvester through Ann. Instantly Sylvester and I became friends. After speaking with him, you could tell that he was a peoples person.

He was extremely humous and loved to laugh. We spent hours on the phone getting to know each other and knowing about the Rutledge family at large.

After his aunt Anne passed, which was my cousin, we met at the her funeral. His message in her ulogy was to tell people that they needed to get saved. That was very powerful. I realized that we had something in common, we both love the Lord.

I'm going to miss him.
