Mae, my heart is with you. I will always treasure the memory of the time you and Rex entrusted me with your house when I was a starving grad student and you two were on a whirlwind overseas adventure. Your eclectic musical taste was evident in the monster CD collection that I dove into when I came home (your home!) every day after class and running. You and Rex are the example that I aspire to with Vicky: two beautiful souls that make the world a better place, because you are in it.
Big Love,
Gary

Mae, sorry to hear about Rex. I always looked up to you and Rex when I first started running back in early 90's. Two great role models. I will miss seeing him.

Dear Mae,
My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved husband. Rex was a teacher to me of running and a friend. I will miss him and hope to hear more of his life story through you and his other friends.

Dear Mae, we can not express enough of our deepest sympathy over the loss of your beloved husband Rex. What a truly remarkable man in so many ways. The love he expressed for his family, life and nature are all beautiful qualities. He reminded me of the verses in Ecclesiastes 7:1, 2 where it mentions that a good name is better than good oil, and the day of death is better than the day of birth...
For the fact that when one dies, the name that they have built for themselves with their past is truly admired. And what a name Rex built for himself! It must have been a pleasure for all that had come in contact with him.
