My condolences to his family.
I spent many years at Lockheed with Rex. He did things that no one else could. Traveling to Denver for work we got to meet his family there. Rex had a heart of gold. I also knew his wife and children from Owego, NY and Melbourne, Aus. Rex always thought of them first in his life. Wish I could have had one last meeting; I loved his sense of humor. Missing you a lot my friend.

When we first moved to Glastonbury and bought our house in the fall of 2009... the previous homeowner did not take care of the volume of leaves in our front yard left by the 6 full sized maple trees lining the property. Not even knowing them for very long, both Rex and Karen showed up to help us rake the front yard.... True, genuine people . He will be missed.

I first had the pleasure of meeting Rex in Scout Troop 540 Glastonbury. From then on he earned my respect. Every Campout with the Scout Troop was a new learning adventure for me and Rex was the teacher. He had so much to offer outside the normal scouting experience. In particular his love for the outdoors and his desire to protect it via his knowledge of "Leave No Trace" Every Campout ended with the "line up" of scouts picking up debris, and leaving the area better than it was when the troop got there. One Special moment with Rex was a very candid conversation we had riding home from a campout at Cape Cod and about his son Ryan's liver transplant when he was an infant. I remember how much he loved his Pug Winston, and still laugh thinking about how, according to Rex, Winston rang a bell when he had to tinkle. His positive attitude about everything, helped so many of the boys in Troop 540, one of those boys was our son DJ. I remember DJ being apprehensive about being Senior Patrol Leader of the Troop. Rex encouraged him to take on the role. One of the proudest moments of my experience with Rex was when his late Son Ryan and our son DJ had their Eagle Scout Ceremony together.
Over the past several years I, unfortunately, seldom got together with Rex. No amount of time away will ever dim the memories of our time working together in Boy Scouts. Rex always told his Scouts to "leave your camp area, or anywhere you roam, in better shape than you found it" Rex, you truly left wherever you roamed a much better place. Rest in Peace. Dave, Mary Jo, and DJ Logan.

Rex and I met freshman year at GGHS and became instant friends. He was quiet to my gregarious. 46 years we remained friends and I will miss him fiercely. My heart goes out to Kelsi, Chris, John and Robin and to Susan for being such a wonderful support. How blessed he was to have found you

My condolences to his family. I met Rex in Woodbadge and subsequently ended up having my son Jonathan join Troop 540.
