Rex White Obituary
He was a pioneer of stock car racing who got his start in NASCAR in the 1950s and racked up 163 top-10 finishes over 233 races, including the NASCAR Grand National Championship victory in 1960.
White is being remembered as NASCAR's oldest champion before his death, who was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2015.

My heart goes out to you Kay. i know how close you were and how much you loved each other. He was like family to us. After James moved on to another job, we never lost contact with Rex. He was a true friend for life.

This is the original race team in 1952. Rex on the right, Bill Steele Sr. shaking Rex's hand and Sonny "Satch" Steele in the window of the Sportsman at Lanham Speedway Maryland.
All three of these men would tell me how Rex spun out every other lap at the beginning. But soon Rex was winning races.
With Rex passing we have lost all three of these men, we miss them terribly each day.
Rex, we are all glad you are home with our Father, your past teammates and competitors.
Thank you for all the life lessons and last but not least great memories. Thank you for being an exemplary human, one of God's shining lights here in this world

I´m so sorry for your loss. IMO, it took too long to induct him into the hall of fame, but better late than never. Rex was a true champion and will be deeply missed by many.

I got to see Mr. White race at DARLINGTON, S.C. in the 500 in the late 1950s, always remember his hard charging style.
