In memory of
Elizabeth( Libby) Perles Gillman
July 16, 2020
I grew up with Rhoda and her family. The last time we met was many years ago when she came to visit her parents. She looked beautiful, was ebullient and friendly as usual. I have a letter that she sent to me when both my parents died within 75 days of each other. I would like to mail it to one of her relatives. I was shocked to learn of her death. After she married and moved to Rochester we lost touch. While reading her life story here, I realized that the Rhoda I knew as a teenager morphed into an adult who dedicated herself to all that was good in this world. I'm sorry that we lost touch. In her condolence letter to me she wanted to connect more.I love you Rhoda in absentia.
My daughter Sherie and me.

Hi,
I grew up with Rhoda. My family lived at 141 Dover Street which was next to Rhoda's house. I have a letter from her when she worked in Insurance. When her mother died I wanted to send her a note of condolence but didn't know her address.
I am shocked at her death. I found the note yesterday-March 12, 2015 and decided to google her name. That is when I learned of her passing. I would like to write the family an Email and get in touch with Phyllis and Judy. Mine is [email protected]
I remember when Phyllis was born, played with Judy--so many happy memories and now sadness.Judy and Phylis will know who I am.

Sandy,
Please accept my condolences to you and your family. Your mother was always very kind to me. I remember I use to see her walking all the time. Your parents moved across the street from my condo at Surrey Hill but I never ran into them. Again I'm sorry for your loss,

She was the greatest next door neighbor and friend that we will ever meet in out lifetime. Shoulder to cry on, burgers @ Quimby's, a glass of wine just chatting & talking about life's issues. Our sincere sympathy to you Billy, (the other great half of our friendship) and your family.
I am sorry that Barry & I could not be there for you @ this sorrowful time.
Hopefully we will get Barry home soon

Rhoda was an extraordinary woman. Her intelligence was surpassed only by her gracious appreciation for the intelligence she saw in others. There was nothing she wouldnt do for her friends and family and as close friends of Rhoda, we felt that generousity every day in every way. We will love her and remember her always.
We offer our most sincere sympathy to her wonderful loving husband and our dear friend Billy and to all the many others she touched and who loved her as well.
