Ric Temple Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 22 to Jan. 24, 2024.
Richard Allen "Ric" Temple, 64, of Seymour passed away on January 17, 2024, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. Ric was born on April 20, 1959, in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to Lawrence and Virgina Rose (Collene) Temple. Ric was a graduate of Clarksville High School and was a longtime barber and real estate broker in the Seymour area. He was active in politics for Seymour, he ran as a City Council candidate and served as a state delegate for the Indiana Republican Party. If you ever met Ric, you would know him to be a great storyteller. Outside of work and politics, Ric loved the outdoors, and his favorite outdoor activities included: kayaking, fishing, mushroom hunting and arrowhead hunting. At one time, Ric had even purchased property just to protect his secret mushroom hunting spot.

Ric is survived by his three children: Austin Temple, Ian Temple, and Kaitlin Temple; sister, Dawn (Charlie) Temple-Mills; mother of his children: Heidi Collier. Ric was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepmother, Rennah (Callis) Temple, brother, Lawrence "Tinker" Temple III, and stepsister Barbara "Barb" (Regan) Gardner.

There will be a memorial visitation in Ric's memory on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 12:00 - 4:00 PM at Voss & Sons Funeral and Cremation Service, 316 N. Chestnut St. Seymour. There will be a private family memorial service at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Borden later. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org)

Oh my goodness! Today, May 22, 2024, marks 47 years since our high school graduation. I JUST discovered that Ricky passed back in January. My heart is broken.
I met Ricky in 6th grade at Green Acres. We both had auburn colored hair and were about the same size. He chased me on the playground and when he caught me, he would say, "You´re my tigger!" I had a crush on him for the next 6 years. He had a great personality and was such a sweet guy.
