In memory of
Dan Selness
June 2, 2005
First met Dick when the company where I was employed was pursuing an A2LA accreditation in 1996. Dick invited me to his company to learn more about the process. The day that we met, Dick greeted me at the door of his company with a smile and a handshake and gave me a tour of his company and explained how his company had achieved the accreditation. I was just a young man at the time, but Dick kindly and patiently answered each and every question that I presented regarding the accreditation process. I had the chance to run into Dick again at an event sponsored by IEEE addressing unemployment about two years ago in the June time period. We had the opportunity to sit next to each other for lunch and we had a very nice conversation about the events in our professional careers since our last meeting. These are the only two times that Dick and I had a chance to meet, but in those times learned to appreciate Dick's integrity and his love of people. Our condolences go out to Dick's family.

I didn't know Dick personally, but could tell from observing him at ISO Users Group and ASQ meetings that he was a gentle-man. I am truly sorry to hear this shocking news, and wish to express my sincerest condolences to the Alberg family.
