Dear Claire:
Deeply sorry to hear the news about Dick. We are in Florida and unfortunately will miss the tributes and rememberences.

Dick and I spent many happy times together. Mostly golf at Summit, Nova Scotia and Florida. I treasure these memories and also going to the Veterans Affairs on November 11th with him on many occasions.

Just a week ago I asked Bob Dove if he could obtain Dick's phone number. I wanted to re-establish contact with him before it was too late for both of us. Sadly this is not now possible.

Dick was respected by all and loved by many including me.

Very saddened to learn of the loss of Dick. We went back to the Texaco days and played golf over the years in Peterborough and Oshawa. Lately we some how lost touch I considered Dick a friend and while it has been on my list to call him I regret not getting it done. My sincere condolences to the Ball family during this sad time. As I am writing this from Florida I an sorry that I will be unable to attend Dick's memorial.
