A Tribute To My Dad

Richard F. Barba (Dick) was born in Toledo, OH June 17, 1935. He received his Angel’s Wings on March 12, 2006 at his home in Mechanicsburg, PA.

My dad was a man who pursued challenges with a confidence beyond measure. At the age of 16 he joined the Air Force to serve his country; and retired from Prudential after having served as Manager and Agent. My Dad was vigilant in teaching life skills that would create success. We learned excellent work ethics, with the motto, “do it once and do it well.”

He loved people and life to its fullest, knowing that a new friend was a handshake away. His hobbies included boating, RV traveling and fishing. My Dad participated here locally by supporting his grandchildren in their accomplishments with his attendance at various events.

My Dad’s final Victory was accepting the Lord Jesus as his Savior. He had the opportunity to walk out his Christian life for three weeks; portraying fruit of the Holy Spirit in his relationships and appreciation for the care received.

My dad was my mentor, my confidante, my encourager and my friend.

To my Dad – I give back to you the poem you gave to me engraved on a pendant so long ago…..

“If I were a star of even, I would rise and set for thee”.

All My Love,

“Angie”
